How is your teaching approach different from traditional tutoring?
Many tutoring programs focus on helping students complete homework or memorize procedures and formulas. Our classes emphasize reasoning, exploration, and mastery. Participants learn the why behind the what, building a strong foundation that helps them solve unfamiliar problems with confidence.
Who are these courses designed for?
These courses are designed for motivated elementary, middle, and high school students who want to strengthen their mathematical foundations, improve their problem-solving skills, and develop a deeper understanding of mathematics. Students who are struggling, performing at grade level, or seeking additional challenge can all benefit from the program.
Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure meaningful interaction and active participation from all students.
What curriculum will be followed?
Our courses are not tied to a specific textbook or curriculum. Except for AP Calculus AB/BC, no textbooks are required. All instructional materials are prepared by the instructor and designed to develop strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. The depth and breadth of coverage are generally comparable to those of a typical Honors-level mathematics course, with an emphasis on the mastery of underlying concepts and applying concepts to new situations.
What if my child is already advanced?
The courses are designed to challenge students at all levels. Advanced learners are exposed to deeper discussions, alternative solution methods, and a wide variety of challenging problems that strengthen their mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
How much participation is expected?
Active participation is encouraged. Students are expected to think through problems, ask questions, and contribute to discussions. Our classes are designed to be interactive and engaging, helping participants learn mathematics through exploration and reasoning rather than passive observation.
Do students receive homework?
Yes. Homework and practice assignments are an important part of the learning process. They provide students with an opportunity to reinforce concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and gain confidence through independent practice. Homework should be completed by the assigned deadline so students can fully participate in the next class.
What equipment is needed?
Participants should have access to a computer or laptop with a reliable internet connection and a printer for worksheets and practice materials. A larger display and the use of headphones are recommended to enhance the learning experience. Classes are conducted via Zoom, and a Google email account is required for accessing class materials and submitting assignments.
Is a calculator required?
Some courses, including SAT Math and AP Calculus AB/BC, require a graphing calculator. The TI-84 Plus CE is strongly recommended.
Are class recordings available?
Yes. All classes are recorded and made available for review, reinforcement, and catch-up purposes. By enrolling, students and parents acknowledge and consent to the recording of class sessions. Recordings are shared with all those enrolled and should not be considered private.
What happens if a student misses a class?
Students can review the class recording and any supporting materials provided for that session. This allows them to stay on track with the course and revisit important concepts at their own pace. When necessary, additional assistance will be provided to help them address any gaps in understanding and rejoin the class with confidence.
How can I help my child get the best outcome from the course?
Parents and guardians play an important role in a student’s success. You can help by:
- Ensuring that the student joins each online session at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Providing a quiet, distraction-free environment for learning.
- Encouraging the student to attempt problems independently before seeking assistance.
- Ensuring that AI tools are not used to complete homework assignments. While AI can be a valuable learning resource, students develop the strongest mathematical understanding when they engage directly with the problem-solving process.

What can I do, as a student, to get the best out of these classes?
To get the maximum benefit from the course:
- Join each online session at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Minimize distractions and avoid unnecessary breaks during class.
- Keep your microphone muted when not speaking and keep your camera on throughout the session whenever possible.
- Be an active participant. Ask questions, contribute to discussions, and share your ideas without hesitation.
- Attempt problems independently before seeking help.
- Avoid using AI tools to complete homework assignments. While AI can be a valuable learning resource, genuine understanding develops when you think through problems yourself.
The more actively you engage with the material, the more confident and successful you will become in mathematics.
How do parents communicate with the instructor?
Parents are welcome to contact the instructor by email at any time. Please contact the instructor using our online form with any questions regarding course placement, scheduling, progress updates, or general concerns. I make every effort to respond promptly.
What is the refund/cancellation policy?
You may cancel your enrollment at any time. Tuition is prorated, and you are responsible only for the classes your child has already attended. Any remaining balance will be refunded promptly.
